Abu Dhabi Airports Company and DFS Abu Dhabi have announced the completion of their largest ever transaction of USD 372,482 equivalent to AED M 1,370,733 on Wednesday 14th December, 2011. The customer is a member of DFS’ loyalty program, Platinum Services Club, which is only available in two airports globally: Abu Dhabi and Changi Airport in Singapore.
Commenting on this impressive sale, believed to be the largest ever airport transaction with one customer, Mohammed Al Bulooki, Chief Commercial Officer of ADAC, said: “This is a historic day in the history of Abu Dhabi Duty Free and our partnership with DFS.”
The Platinum Services Club affords Abu Dhabi Airport’s premium customers the opportunity to access exclusive products, with an array of added value benefits, whilst shopping at DFS Abu Dhabi International Airport.
The Platinum Services Club at DFS Abu Dhabi International Airport is an aspect of the business on which ADAC and DFS are focused; working closely together to expand and enhance the benefits and services offered to the scheme’s clients.
This exceptionally valuable transaction is testament to the successful combination of luxury exclusive products supported by a dedicated professional sales team offering a personalized service. Premium customers recognize the unparalleled value of shopping with DFS through the Platinum Services Club program.
Al Bulooki added: “Abu Dhabi continues to develop into a leading global destination; with a major increase in the number of high profile events with international reach taking place in the Emirate. Events such as Formula 1 Etihad Airways Grand Prix, the Volvo Ocean race, the European PGA Golf Tour, The Mubadala World Tennis Championships and the Abu Dhabi International Film Festival have brought with them an increase in the numbers of high net worth visitors to the Emirate year on year.”
Glen Morgan, Vice President DFS Abu Dhabi, commented: “DFS Platinum Services Club is ideally suited to not only meeting, but exceeding these visitors’ expectations as they travel through, and shop in Abu Dhabi International Airport.”
“ADAC and DFS’ combined commitment to providing a world-class retail offer in a stress-free environment where shoppers can feel relaxed and have access to premium brands and specific luxury items, is of benefit to all parties, in particular and most importantly the customers” added Morgan.
With the new Midfield terminal due to open in 2017, exclusive retail facilities dedicated to the Platinum Service Club members are already being planned. Until then however, the immediate goal is to improve upon and exceed the value of this recent transaction, by offering leading luxury brands within an exclusive environment, delivered with first-class levels of service and customer care.
