Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT), the World’s gateway to Jordan and beyond, recently launched its “Ekfal Taleb” Campaign, taking yet another step forward in its strive to support members of its local community and especially less fortunate families facing financial challenges at the start of the academic school year .
Through this Campaign, more than 300 students from the Al-Shamela Secondary Comprehensive School for Girls, Safia Primary School, Al-Sawarie Primary School, and other government schools across Aqaba were supported. The Campaign, which will extend throughout the academic year of 2012/ 2013, secured its beneficiaries’ tuition fees, while also providing benefiting students with school uniforms, school bags, stationary, books, and geometry sets.
Communications and Public Relations Manager at ACT, Mr. Ihab Alrawashdeh explained that “Ekfal Taleb” campaign falls directly in line with the Company’s aims to play a proactive role in local socioeconomic growth endeavors. Based on the positive outcomes this endeavor has seen so far, the Company is committed to launching more phases of the Campaign in the future.
He further added that ACT’s CSR strategy is founded on spearheading projects that provides sustainable long-term benefits to the community, and, to ACT, education represents a main pillar in the Community’s development.
It is worth mentioning that the “Ekfal Taleb” campaign was coordinated and implemented by the ACT CSR Committee, and that it is only one of many initiatives spearheaded by the company in its strive to support all sectors of the community.
