In keeping with its ongoing aims to serve the local community, Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT), the World’s gateway to Jordan and beyond, recently held a Women’s health day. The event was organized by the company’s CSR committee in collaboration with the medical center located in the old town of Aqaba.
Primarily aimed at raising health awareness amongst the women of Aqaba, the Women’s Health Day agenda included awareness lectures and seminars on pressing health issues including: obesity, pregnancy, diabetes, breast cancer, and blood pressure control. On the side lines of the event, children were also entertained by a series of Tele-match games organized just for them.
Communications and Public Relations Manager at ACT, Mr. Ihab Alrawashdeh explained that the Company is always keen on launching initiatives that strive to educate and elevate the status of local community members, as raising health awareness amongst members of the community falls at the forefront of the Company’s priorities.
He further added that the company is not complaisant when it comes to serving the local community, as plans are underway to hold more specialized and targeted medical days in the future.
It is important to note that this initiative is only one of many to be launched by the Company, as ACT is always searching for new ways to serve the communities it operates within.
