As part of its continued efforts to support the arts, Jordan Ahli Bank recently sponsored the tenth anniversary of the "Dialogue of Cultures" musical concert, which is organized by the Ahliyyah School for Girls and Bishop's School for Boys in cooperation with the Goethe Institute.
The concert, which took place in the theater of the Ahliyyah School, also featured 60 members of the Helmoholts – Gymnaslum School Choir.
"Dialogue of Cultures" is part of a cultural exchange collaboration launched in 2006 between the Goethe Institute and the National Music Conservatory, with the objective of training students under the hands of musician Helmut Burkard, who continues to create qualitative leaps in the capacities of local youth orchestras. The initiative seeks to leverage on the universal power of music to create a dialogue of cultures, combining elements of Oriental Arabic and Classical Western musical traditions.
The concert comprised a series of performances delivered by the choirs of the three participating schools, featuring a number of classical, folkloric and modern musical performances and dance numbers. One major performance was organized openly for the local community at large, followed by several smaller performances taking place at various private schools in Amman.
This sponsorship by Ahli Bank comes as part of arts series of similar cultural initiatives, the most recent of which targeted a concert organized in March by the Palestinian National Orchestra.
