Capital Club Christmas Carols
Capital Club Dubai, the region’s premier private business club and a member of the ENSHAA group of companies, unfolded joyous celebrations for the festive season by initiating revelries days before the eve of Christmas. Club members and their families found the Club beautifully bedecked for the season and even Santa put in an appearance for the Children...
The Signature Room of the Club was adorned with flowers, balloons and a fully decorated Christmas tree. The evening began with Carols by Candlelight, as the guests were entertained by The Dubai Chamber Choir. Dubai’s most famous choral group,
Under the able direction of Stuart Squire, the 22-member choir delighted the guests by performing repertoire seldom heard in the UAE. They sang a number of soulful Christmas carols to entertain the guests including; O Come all ye faithful, Jingle Bells and We wish you Merry Christmas.
Squire, whose group performed at the Capital Club for the second consecutive year, said he loves to perform there. “We all enjoyed singing the carols for a lovely audience, they do not only appreciate good performances but also love to join in and sing along.”
Sharing his appreciation for the club, Squire said his group performs only at selected venues. “The Capital club is the only place we have performed at this year. Our second and last performance will be held on Dec.15 at the Christ Church in Jebel Ali, Dubai,” he said.
Since a Christmas party is incomplete without traditional delicacies, the guests were also treated to a sumptuous Christmas dinner, while one of Dubai’s finest pianists provided the musical background for the second part of the festivities.
Capital Club member Mark Beer, who attended the celebration along with his family, congratulated the club on hosting such a successful event. “The club’s activities just keep getting better. I particularly appreciate their efforts to organize this kind of function at such an important time of the year,” he said.
Another member, Gordon Robertson, who regularly attends the club’s events and activities, dubbed the Christmas gathering as “A class above the rest.”
“It was indeed a great way to start the Christmas Season,” he added.
