In the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan and as an integral component of its social responsibility platform, Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Jordan is actively participating in the distribution of food and beverage through its strategic partnership and collaboration with the Tkiyet Um Ali Organization. As part of the partnership, Coca Cola will be supporting the iftar meal distribution to more than 250,000 members of underprivileged families in several areas throughout Jordan.
Coca-Cola employees in Jordan will also participate in distributing the allocated iftar meals during Ramadan as part of the Company's efforts to involve its staff body and expand the breadth of its social responsibility initiatives to reach all areas of the Kingdom.
To mark the occasion, Mr. Cem Becel, the General Manager of Coca-Cola bottling company in Jordan said, "We at Coca-Cola Jordan are pleased to support Tkiyet Um Ali's effective campaign efforts that aim at easing and eradicating hunger throughout Jordan especially during the month of giving and compassion. Our involvement in this initiative is in line with our social responsibility platform and comes as a natural extension to the Coca-Cola aim of spreading and sharing happiness. This initiative is taking place to put a smile on the faces of the underprivileged and ensure as many members of community are able to ensure the Holy Month."
Mr. Becel added, "In addition to reaching out to society through our social responsibility efforts, at Coca-Cola, it is key for us to engage our employees in activities that seek to advance and reinforce the spirit of true volunteerism."
Mr. Mahmoud Al Sharif, General Manager at the Tkiyet Um Ali Organization also stated, "We would like to thank the Coca-Cola Company for its steadfast support and the important role that it is assuming in our food distribution campaign as we provide necessary iftar meals to those in need during the holy month. It is great to have the support of Coca-Cola as we practice our deeply-rooted belief in the importance of supporting all segments of local communities through different circumstances and seasonal occasions which gives them a real sense of societal integration and will ultimately facilitate and lead to building a strong and collaborative society that is able to face and overcome future challenges."
