Crowne Plaza Jordan Dead Sea Resort & Spa has been informed that it is amongst the winning hotels of the esteemed International Hotel Awards in the 2013 Arabian regional competition. InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) competed against a number of hotels and resorts in Jordan to receive this recognition.
Crowne Plaza Jordan Dead Sea Resort & Spa has won in the category for Best New Hotel Construction & Design in which the resort was judged based on various criteria including landscape, interior design, different facilities, unique selling points, as well as other features that are related to safety, sustainability and the environment. “We are extremely happy to have achieved such a prestigious award,” says Mr. Firas Irsheidat, Area General Manager for Crowne Plaza Jordan Dead Sea Resort & Spa and Holiday Inn Resort Dead Sea. “We are proud of our resort which is a new property in the Dead Sea and has become very well-known in the area in a very short time. The International Hotel Awards has 17 categories and up to three 5-star awards for each category are awarded on a national level before going on to compete on a regional level. In addition to categories for several types of specialty hotels and categories by hotel size, there are also categories for hotel architecture, construction, interior design, marketing and website.
Each hotel winner will receive either a Highly Commended or 5-Star award. The 5-star winners will be placed under further examination and just one from each category will be selected to represent the Arabia region in the 2013 International Hotel Awards. The regional winners who will go on to compete in the International Final ‘World’s Best’ Hotel Awards will be invited to attend a gala event hosted in London this coming November, to coincide with the World Travel Market. They will compete against other regional winners from Africa, Asia, Europe, UK and the Americas to find the ultimate World’s Best in each category.

Building upon the success of business events first added to the 2011 award ceremonies, the International Hotel Awards have partnered with the International Property Awards to host the Arabia & Africa Property & Hospitality Show at the same venue on Oct. 23rd. A number of professional networking events, including seminars, discussion tables and an exhibition will be attended by guests.
