H.E. Laila Mohd Suhail, CEO Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment
Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment (DEPE), an agency of the Department of Economic Development, announced its plans to participate at Arabian Travel Market (ATM) - the region’s premier travel trade show. With an anticipated attendance of over 17,000, the event will act as a platform for DEPE to celebrate a number of its successes and accomplishments, including two major milestones in the Establishment’s history – the 15th edition of Dubai Summer Surprises, and the first anniversary of the Dubai Calendar – which was launched one year ago at ATM 2011.
Details for several upcoming Dubai events, including the ever popular Dubai Summer Surprises 2012 (DSS), and Modhesh World, in addition to Ramadan in Dubai and Eid in Dubai – Eid Al Fitr 2012 will also be revealed throughout the four-day event.
H.E. Laila Mohd Suhail, CEO Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment, explained that the Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment’s participation in ATM 2012 since its inception furthers the establishment’s commitment to the tourism, leisure and retail sectors in the UAE.
“Arabian Travel Market is the ideal platform for the Establishment to communicate its new initiatives and B2B endeavors to local, regional and international industry professionals. With some of the region’s most influential travel trade specialists on hand, we view ATM as a great opportunity to address the trade sector, underline our commitment to our strategic partners and exchange best practices with regional and international players,” explained H.E. Laila Mohd Suhail.
H.E. Laila Mohd Suhail further added: “DEPE has a host of exciting announcements planned for this year’s event – each of which seeks to raise awareness of the Establishment’s goal to further enhance and streamline operations in the retail and events sectors in Dubai, while maximizing the contribution of these two industry sectors to Dubai’s economy.”
Select strategic partners in the retail sector will be joining the DEPE team on stand, including representatives from Emaar Malls Group, Mercato, Dubai Festival City and the Dubai Shopping Malls Group (DSMG) .
“Hosting our strategic retail partners on the stand marks DEPE’s commitment to supporting and growing the retail and events sectors in Dubai. With the retail sector contributing to 30 per cent of Dubai’s GDP, our strategic partners play a key role in the growth of the Emirate’s economy. Additionally, they are a destination that is valued and loved by residents and visitors alike,” said H.E. Laila Mohd Suhail.
Building on the remarkable success of Dubai Calendar, following its conception in 2011, the Establishment will be hosting a unique workshop at ATM 2012. The event – a hands-on, interactive workshop designed exclusively for travel agents and tour operators – will showcase the Dubai Calendar to international travel agents and offer tips and suggestions for promoting Dubai as a unique tourist destination to international audiences. The workshop is scheduled to take place on Tuesday May 1st from 11:30am-1pm.
The Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment stand is located in Hall 3 of the Dubai World Trade Centre, and will operate from April 30 – May 3, 2012.
