During its participation at GITEX 2013, Dubai Customs launched a smart marketing campaign based on the augmented reality technology. The campaignwas launched in conjunction with the Department’s success of transforming into a 100% smart government department. Dubai Customs’ participation at GITEX provides visitors with an opportunity to get familiar with the new services on their own mobile phonesby downloading a special application that enables them to browseall information and data related to the new services and the Department’s overall operations in an entertaining way and with fun activities that allow them to win instant prizes.
Dubai Customs’ new smart marketing campaign included the launch of different applications and activities that are based on this advanced technology.Activities of the smart marketing campaign that include printed and visual advertisements and different interactive games can be seen through smart devices.
“Touch the Falcons” game, that was developed as a part of Dubai Customs’ smart application, is one of the most interesting activities of the campaign. Each falcon displays a different message about the Department’s work when it is touched, and visitors have to touch six different falcons through their smart devicesto win instant prizes and enter the mega draw. The name of the mega draw’s winner will be announced on the 2nd of December 2013.
“We developed the smart marketing campaign to ensure having a high level campaign that comes in line with the Department’s transformation into the first 100% government department, that providesits services 24/7 to customers wherever they are. The campaign is based on the augmented reality advanced technology, through which one can see advertisements, activities and competitions by entering the augmented reality world full of excitement through the use of smart devices,” said Khalil Saqer bin Gharib, Director, Corporate Communication Department at Dubai Customs.
Dubai Customs’ stand witnessed a large number of visitors during GITEX 2013 who participated in the Department’s fun activities and won many instant prizes. They also registered their data to enter the mega draw.
Both Dubai Customs stands at GITEX, Dubai Smart Government stand in Sheikh Saeed Hall and the one at Concourse 1 broadly received visitors who were interested to see the different augmented reality surprises and fun activities presented by Dubai Customs.
