Emaar Properties honours Dubai Government Event Committee for support to New Year’s Celebrations 2012 in Downtown Dubai

Emaar honours Government Entities

Emaar Properties PJSC, the developer of iconic projects, hosted a special ceremony to honour the Dubai Government Event Committee that supported in successfully hosting the New Year’s Celebrations 2012 in Downtown Dubai.

The spectacular event, which put Dubai on the global spotlight, hosted more than a million visitors to Downtown Dubai, the flagship mega-development of Emaar, and was telecast live to more than 2.5 billion homes world-wide.

Mr. Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Managing Director, Emaar Properties, said: “The New Year’s Celebrations 2012 was a clear demonstration of Dubai’s competencies in hosting world-class events. The event was held seamlessly thanks to the support of the various Government entities, and we are thankful to them for the hard work, team spirit and dedication making the event one of the milestones in Dubai’s events calendar.”

Representatives of the various Government entities were honoured at the ceremony for their contribution in making the event another milestone achievement for Dubai.

The New Year’s Celebration 2012, Downtown Dubai, was marked a breathtaking display of fireworks that draped Burj Khalifa with the colours of the UAE National Flag. Described as The Centre of Now, Downtown Dubai’s attractions include At the Top, Burj Khalifa, the world’s highest observation deck with an outdoor terrace; The Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping and entertainment destination; The Dubai Fountain; residences; commercial offices and the Emaar Boulevard, a 3.5 km boulevard lined with retail and F&B attractions.
