Following a highly successful participation at the Abu Dhabi Tawdheef job fair 2013, Emirates Aluminium (EMAL) continues its drive to fill 154% more targeted vacancies at Careers UAE 2013 and Fujairah Career Fair 2013 for its rapidly developing Phase II expansion – due for completion on 2014 year end.
Taking place from 14 to 16 May 2013 at Fujairah, EMAL is offering job opportunities for disciplines across multiple fields at the fair – targeting technical disciplines and primarily offering opportunities to scholarship students, as well as promote vacancies for summer training and internship programmes.
With the EMAL core value of ‘investing in today for the benefit of tomorrow’, the smelter maintains a robust Emiratisation programme utilising multiple initiatives to ensure a growing skilled UAE national workforce for the future. Non-supervisory positions are available for Emirati males holding high schoolor Institutes of Applied Technology (IAT) certificates and are eligible to apply for the Pre-Employment Courses (PEC) that trains candidates for non-supervisory positions at EMAL. Lasting between 6and 24 months, the PEC courses will prepare trainees for jobs as Utility Operators, Technicians and Assistant Technicians across all EMAL Operation departments, including casthouse, carbon, maintenance or power.
In 2012, EMAL successfully launched and implementedsix training programs for Emiratis to qualify and assign them to work in different fields in operation. However, during the first quarterof 2013, two additional training programs have been added and five more in realization phase.
The 1st quarter of 2013 has also seen early success in preparing UAE nationals for their roles in EMAL. 22 employees out of 90 planned for supervisory roleshave completed their training;sevenout of 17employees to be assigned for executive roles have concluded their programs,in additionto 42 out of 138 of our employees designated for technical roles.
At thesupervisory level, positions are available for fresh university graduates in the field of mechanical, electrical and chemical engineering to join EMAL’s graduate training programme for 15 - 18months and then, graduating to hold prominent positions at EMAL.
