EMGAS receives CSR Label award
Emirates Gas EMGAS, a subsidiary of the Emirates National Oil Company ENOC, won Dubai Chamber’s CSR Label award for the second consecutive year for its distinguished corporate social responsibility practices. Presented by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry's Centre for Responsible Business, the award recognises companies that have made significant contributions to the consumers, workplace, community and environment.
EMGAS was honoured for its continuous efforts to implement best practices that benefit customers and the environment, and the award underscores the company’s commitment and sustained focus on CSR practices.
Hesham Ali Mustafa, Senior Director – ENOC Gas Marketing & General Manager – Emirates Gas LLC, said: “We were the first oil and gas company to be presented with the accolade from Dubai Chamber in 2011, and it is our honour to receive the CSR Label award for the second time. Our CSR initiatives are as significant as our other business goals, and we remain committed to undertaking programmes that make a difference to the community and the environment.”
Among the various activities of EMGAS that brought the company the laurel for the second time include its focus on promoting the use of Compressed Natural Gas CNG in Dubai as an environmentally friendly alternative fuel for automobiles. Dubai Chamber also identified the various activities taken as part of EMGAS’ public safety campaigns. EMGAS is now certified for ISO 10002 for Customer Care, an addition to its ISO 9001 - QMS, 14001 - EMS & 18001 - OSHAS certifications, and has a strong employee safety record. All these parameters highlighted its credentials for the award.
The company has undertaken various CSR programmes focused on safety, community integration and sustainable development – all of which takes the community one step closer towards a ‘greener’ and ‘safer’ Dubai.

The Dubai Chamber’s CSR Label is a direct recognition and reward programme for good CSR practices. The award is open to all companies, large and small, operating in any economic sector of Dubai.
