Emirates Green Building Council (EmiratesGBC), an independent forum aimed at conserving the environment by strengthening and promoting green building practices in the UAE, will review solutions for promoting sustainable built environments at a networking event to be held on April 23, 2013 at Dusit Thani Hotel in Dubai.
Sponsored by Legrand, a global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructure and an EmiratesGBC member, the event will bring together stakeholders, who represent the building supply chain, including developers, consultants and designers.
The networking event will include a panel session on Sustainable Housing. Key representatives from leading firms in the industry: Arup, HOK, Daikin Mcquay, and Woods Bagot, will discuss various aspects of building sustainability including the regional impact of the building sector on the environment, challenges of urbanisation, building evaluation schemes for international coordination and cost of sustainable housing.
Adnan Sharafi, EmiratesGBC Chairman said: “Developing sustainable housing infrastructure is one of the priorities of developers today in line with the green vision of the UAE. However, there are several areas to be addressed in this regard, which call for information sharing among the various stakeholders. Through the networking event, we are bringing together partners from across the supply chain, who can all benefit from the learning, and in turn contribute to the further developing the sustainable built environment of the region.”
The EmiratesGBC networking event is open to both members and non-members of the Council. Fees to attend the event are 50 AED for members and AED 150 for non-members. Interested participants can email their interest to: email@example.com.
EmiratesGBC regularly hosts and participates in multinational events, conferences and forums. The EmiratesGBC has also developed a suite of activities, including networking events, technical workshops, focus days and facilitated training based around specific issues related to the built-environment that meet the needs of its members, of the UAE community, and the wider Middle East.
EmiratesGBC is also inviting corporates and individuals, who are dedicated to sustainable solutions and practices. Members gain significant benefits that include taking part in networking events and comprehensive programmes led by industry leaders.
