Etisalat today announced its partnership with the Dubai World Cup as sponsor of the ‘Godolphin Mile’ race, an integral part of the tournament. The Dubai World Cup, now in its 17th edition, kicked off today at Meydan, the world’s largest track for horse racing in terms of space.
Commenting on Etisalat’s sponsorship of the ‘Godolphin Mile’ race, Jaber Al Janahi, Vice President, Corporate Communications, highlighted that Dubai World Cup was one of the most important horse racing championships in the world and attracted the best horses and horsemen from around the world.
The sponsorship is in line with Etisalat’s commitment to support and sponsor different activities that are important to UAE, especially those that reflect the rich cultural heritage of the country.
Al Janahi added that the distinguished patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to the sport of horse racing in general and Dubai World Cup in particular has enabled the race to achieve global credentials and become one of the most important international races watched by millions.
Referring to the strong attendance from horse owners, trainers and equestrians from all around the world, Al Janahi said the event had the potential to grow into one of the finest annual events within the global sporting calendar .
