Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University (HBMeU) has finalized preparations for hosting the 7th Quality Conference in the Middle East to be held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and President of HBMeU, and under the umbrella of the HBMeU Congress.
The conference will take place from March 3 to 5, 2014 at the Atlantis Hotel in Dubai. It complements the vision of the UAE’s wise leadership and forms part of efforts to broaden the adoption of excellence and quality practices and the exchange and transfer of expertise to ensure continuous development and optimize total performance.
The 7th Quality Conference in the Middle East’s theme is ‘Towards Sustainable Excellence: Leading a Successful Transformation.’ Its agenda will include a series of Policy and Strategy Roundtable meetings and discussions that will focus on the transformation towards sustainable excellence. Workshops discussing the positive energy inspired by the leadership of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will be held as well.
The conference will discuss a collection of research and analytic papers, presentations and current studies with the participation of key academics, government decision-makers, experts and representatives of international organizations and government agencies. The best papers will be published in ‘The International Journal of Excellence in Public Sector Management’ (ISSN: 1993-8640( and ‘The International Journal of Excellence in e-Solution for Management’ (ISSN: 1993-8667) while other works presented in the conference will be considered for publication.
The papers to be presented by excellence and sustainability researchers will touch on various key topics and issues such as ‘Sustainable Quality Improvement,’ ‘Achieving and Sustaining Operative and Strategic Excellence,’ ‘Succeeding through Human Resources: A Proven Strategy for Achieving Business Excellence,’ ‘Inspiration for Creativity, Innovation and Quality,’ ‘Management with Agility for Achieving Business Excellence,’ ‘Managing Service Quality in the era of a Service and Experience Economy: Managerial Challenges and Opportunities,’ and ‘Managing Transformational Change: Challenges and Opportunities.’
Commenting on the conference, Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, HBMeU Chancellor, said: “Sustainable excellence is an important pioneering concept that is gaining more attention nowadays as an effective approach to address current and future challenges hindering the progress of overall sustainability. The upcoming conference will provide a platform to promote this idea and complement the government’s vision of fostering a culture of Quality and Excellence within the community.”

The HBMeU Congress 2014 is a strategic platform for stimulating academic and institutional innovation and excellence as well as scientific research. The international gathering will further enrich the knowledge base of the Middle East. Its agenda will include the hosting of three distinguished concurrent scientific conferences, namely the 6th Conference on e-Learning Excellence in the Middle East to be held under the theme ‘Leadership, Design, and Technology for 21st Century Learning;’ the 5th Health and Environment Conference in the Middle East to be held under the theme ‘Transformation for Better Healthcare and Environment;’ and the 7th Quality Conference in the Middle East under the theme ‘Towards Sustainable Excellence: Leading a Successful Transformation.’
