Abu Dhabi’s new addition, Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi, can be termed as trendy, chic and stylish in its truest sense and it will be playing an active role in the fourth running of ‘Gourmet Abu Dhabi’, this year taking place from 8 - 23 February in the UAE’s capital city. It will be seen as a journey that takes the route of the Ottoman Empire, sumptuously building its way up your palettes, and the Turkish Celebrity Chef Musa Dağdeviren will add that extra touch – a symphony of its kind.
Organisers of the annual event, Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, describe ‘Gourmet Abu Dhabi’ (gourmetabudhabi.ae) as a lifestyle gastronomic extravaganza that marries culture and cuisine impeccably, reflecting Abu Dhabi’s advanced modernisation and its rich Middle Eastern heritage.
“New to the city and passionate about food, Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi is keen to actively participate in this exciting annual gastronomic event, and will host a celebrity chef from Turkey in our signature restaurant, 18 Degrees (18°). We intend to make the 8 February Gala Opening Event one in which Hyatt’s commitment to excellence in food preparation and creative presentation will shine through for the more than 400 expected discerning guests,” said Federico Mantoani, Food and Beverage Director at the hotel.
Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi will showcase four key dishes at the event’s opening night: Cold Beef Tartar with bulgur, sumac, parsley, mint, chilli, and croutons; Hot Duck Confit with celery, spiced-orange, and walnut salad; Roast Lamb Loin with lemon, hazelnut, cumin, coriander, and sesame carved at a live-station; and, finally, one of the hotel’s signature food offerings – Profiterole of Cod Fish Brandade with red onion marmalade.
“For the opening gala event and as a curtain raiser, we chose dishes that are reflective of the cuisine featured in signature restaurant, 18°: simply-prepared foods done very well, presented smartly and with a contemporary twist that both surprise and delight guests. We always use fresh ingredients, and we make certain to infuse all dishes with flavours that are authentic to their country or region of origin” said Steffen Gube, Executive Chef of Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi.
As Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi takes you on his this gourmet journey, it will bring in hosts of surprises, one of which being the ‘Master Class’ by visiting Turkish Chef, Musa Dağdeviren, at the Abu Dhabi Armed Forces Officers’ Club on 13 February.
And from 14 - 17 February, as part of the hotel’s participation as a partner in the Gourmet Abu Dhabi programme, Musa Dağdeviren will be a chef-in-residence at the Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi.
