IKEA UAE’srecently launched mobile phone application was named the ‘Best App – Retail Brand’ at The Mobile Show Middle East held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre on May 14 and 15, 2013.
While Apple and Android mobile device users can find this free-to-download app at the App Store and Google Play, those on other operating systems can visit the mobile-friendly website which makes the browsing experience seamless and smooth.
Receiving the award on behalf of IKEA, John Kersten, Managing Director, IKEA, UAE, Qatar, Egypt & Oman said, “We are pleasedto have been honoured with this recognition. IKEA has had a long standing commitment to make shopping more convenient and our mobile app is one such step ahead. Over the last few years we have launched our integrated website, the Arabic website and mobile website to ensure consumers have easy access to the brand they love.”
Also contending for the award were Panda and Spinneys Lebanon. The evening was concluded in great style as it also applauded 14 other brands across various categories of digital intervention such as Best Mobile Advertising Campaign, Best Game, Best App – Media and Entertainment and Best Tablet App.

IKEA has created this mobile-friendly version of the website to enhance user experience and ensure easy access to the designs, themes and inspirations that is now synonymous to the brand. Customers can now browse over 5,000 products, check product information and stock availability and create shopping lists to make shopping faster and more convenient.
Other features include store finder using Google maps, opening hours and contact details - all designed to help consumers enjoy a seamless and productive visit to the IKEA store.
