Imdaad, a leading provider of integrated facilities management (FM) solutions in the GCC, and Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Sports Complex, the state-of-the-art, 15,000-seater indoor sporting facility in Dubai, have collaborated anew, this time for the 2014 FIBA Under-17 World Championship for Men. In the latest partnership, the FM company - through Imdaad Power division - will provide power generators to meet the temporary electricity requirements of the prestigious international junior basketball competition from August 8 to 16. The competition’s preliminary round will take place at Al-Ahli Arena and Al-Wasl Arena, while the final round will be held at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Sports Complex.
Imdaad Power, which aims to address the temporary power needs of projects and industries in the GCC, has power generators of various sizes and capacity from small diesel units to big containerized power units starting with 300Kva to 1250Kva. This way, it will be able to supply safe, reliable, and customized power generation solutions during the course of the competition. Imdaad’s complete support for the FIBA U17 World Championship reflects the company’s commitment to help position Dubai as a premier host of high-profile sporting tournaments and other global events.
Jamal Lootah, CEO, Imdaad, said: “The upcoming FIBA championship marks another fruitful partnership between our company and Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Sports Complex. Just like in the previous sports contests, we assure that Imdaad Power can be relied upon in terms of providing FIBA’s specific electricity needs. This will eliminate any risk of power interruptions, thus contributing to the overall success of the competition. As a major sponsor of the event, we are doubly excited to be part of this year’s junior basketball event because this is the first time that a FIBA World Championship - senior or junior - will be staged in the Middle East. Indeed, this makes the tournament a momentous occasion for the UAE.”
This is not the first time that Imdaad Power extended reliable power generation services to major global sporting events held at Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Sports Complex. They also collaborated for the successful holding of FINA Men’s Water Polo League Super Final in June of this year, the 4th FINA World Junior Swimming Championships in 2013, and the 9th Asian Swimming Championships and the Dubai Swimming World Cup in 2012.
Imdaad Power has been primarily established to respond to the increasing demand for power at construction sites in the wake of the booming urban and offshore developments in the GCC. The division provides a wide range of services, which include the rental of equipment required for temporary generation of electricity with sufficient capacity. Its power generators are equipped with sound attenuated enclosures for onboard or dock side needs within the shipping industry. In addition, Imdaad Power offers water-based chillers and air conditioners to supplement the installed process systems or to provide heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) services.
