Following the vision of smart government initiative announced by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the German e-Governance major ]init[ Digital Communication is showcasing its international expertise in developing Smart Governments at this year’s Gitex Technology Week held in Dubai from October 20 – 24, 2013.
]init[, an industry pioneer in public mobile application development and the developer of Germany’s most popular travel app, provides a comprehensive range of services for smart governments, ranging from evaluation and strategy to design and development, and to distribution and marketing. These services include consulting and conceptual design, apps for iOS, Android and Windows phones, mobile versions of portals and websites, applications for tablets, native and cross-platform development, mobile services and enterprise solutions, distribution and marketing and responsive design.
“Through its engagement with several federal and local governments in Germany, ]init[ has developed many award-winning best practices that we believe are worth sharing with the government departments and wider community here in the UAE. Every year, we eagerly look forward to this event to share our knowledge and explore the opportunities with local players”, said Harald Felling, CSO of ]init[ Digital Communication.
“Smart Government doesn’t mean creating a mobile version or responsive design for your website or offering your services on smart phones. What it means is being in tune with the people, engage with them regardless of the medium, place and time, and being responsive to their needs and habits in a smart way”, said renowned IT specialist Dr. Usman Zafar who is the Country Manager of ]init[ Middle East.
“Through ]init[ Middle East, we can help local departments to face the challenges of turning into real smart governments by providing them with the key ingredients for setting up successful smart governments: vision, strategy, knowledge, skills, technology, global references and local expertise”, Dr. Usman added.
In the UAE market, the company is working with some local government departments to develop the mobile versions or responsive designs of their websites to meet the requirements of Smart Government initiative launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum earlier this year.
The recognition of ]init[‘s growing role in public mobile application development came at the world‘s largest high-tech event CeBIT when the Customs and Travel app, developed by ]init[ for the Federal Ministry of Finance, won the “Federal” category in the eGovernment Computing government apps competition. The Germany’s most popular government app with more than 250,000 downloads helps travelers find out what they may bring back from abroad, and what they should leave behind.
