Four months after launching the only self-check-in kiosks at Kuwait International Airport, Jazeera Airways today revealed that Dubai-bound travelers were the segment that most used the service, generating 26% of the total self-check-ins, followed by travelers to Bahrain (16%) and Jeddah (10%).
In addition to being the only airline to offer travelers self-check-in kiosks at the airport, Jazeera Airways also enables travelers to check-in on jazeeraairways.com.
Online, Dubai-bound travelers were also in the lead with 30% of all web-check-ins during the period, followed by Cairo-bound travelers and Beirut-bound travelers, generating 16% and 15% of all web-check-ins respectively.
Jazeera Airways VP of Ground Operations and Product, Ali Fairooz, said, “Empowering customers is the cornerstone of our offering at Jazeera Airways and we are very pleased with the customer pickup following the launch of our self-check-in and web-check-in facilities. We are particularly pleased with web-check-in pickup and we look forward to rolling out the service to more destinations within our network.”
In June 2012, Jazeera Airways became the first airline in Kuwait to offer a self-check-in service with the introduction of state-of-the-art bilingual kiosks that empower travelers to check-in, choose their seat, and print their boarding pass independently.
The airline also launched in March 2012 Kuwait’s first full web-check-in service, enabling Jazeera Airways travelers to check-in comfortably from their home or office, print their boarding pass on any printer and report directly to immigration when flying without baggage after a quick stop and stamp at the dedicated verification counter at the airport.
Over the last year, Jazeera Airways has rolled-out a series of value-enhancing customer-experience boosting initiatives that included its easy and gimmick-free frequent flier program “Jazeerati”, high-tech mobile booking options, and an on-board duty free shopping service.
Jazeera Airways is also ranked the highest in on-time performance (OTP) in the Middle East in the month of August 2012, as measured by FlightStats, the US-based global OTP tracker. The airline’s OTP for August 2012 was 96%.
The airline operates a two-class cabin comprising of a Business Class and an Economy Class. Business Class travelers get both an upgraded experience and exclusivity, starting with exclusive check-in lines and business lounge access, up to 60 kilograms in free baggage allowance, and an exclusive on-board cabin. The airline’s Economy Class offers travelers free baggage allowance of 40 kilograms and free on-board meals with a changing menu every month.
Jazeera Airways is an IATA-member airline and operates one of the youngest Airbus A320 fleets across the Middle East and North Africa.
