KidZania, the 80,000 sq ft interactive mini-city at The Dubai Mall that combines play with learning, welcomed over 50 children as part of its Madinat KidZania charity initiative.
Students from Zayed Higher Organisation and Al Ain Rehab and Special Care Centre enjoyed a full day of fun activities at KidZania, managed by Emaar Retail LLC, the provider of premium leisure and retail experiences.
They were provided 300 KidZos each, the currency of the children’s city, as against the normal provision of 50 KidZos. The additional KidZos were partly donated by children who visited during Madinat KidZania, the charity initiative held during the Holy Month of Ramadan, and this amount was doubled by the ‘Government of KidZania.’
The participants tried out various roles from a total of over 80 ‘professions,’ including that of surgeons, firefighters, chefs, engineers, models, actors, artists, radio hosts, photographers, television hosts, jewelry designers and mechanics among others. They also experienced some of the recently introduced professions in the city, such as Comic Book Artist, Car Salesman, Customs Inspector and Biscuit Manufacturer.
KidZania® features offices, university, fire station, race track, radio station, pizzeria, hospital, bank, theatre and ATM machines amongst others, all scaled down to a smaller, child-friendly size. Children dress up in real-life uniforms and perform realistic professional tasks in a fun and meaningful way.
In addition to KidZania, Emaar Retail manages a strong roster of exclusive leisure and retail concepts at The Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping and entertainment destination, including Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo featuring over 33,000 aquatic animals and the world’s largest acrylic viewing panel; the Olympic-sized Dubai Ice Rink; and the region’s largest SEGA indoor theme park, SEGA Republic.
