After a long wait, Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) finally unveiled the next generation Lexus GS 450h hybrid at the 2011 Frankfurt International Motor Show from September 13th to the 25th. Central Trade and Auto Company (CTA) – the exclusive dealer for Toyota, Lexus and Hino in the Kingdom - plans to launch the vehicle in the Jordanian market in the spring of 2012.
The new Lexus GS 450h is noteworthy as the first Lexus model to adopt LED lights for both its low and high beams. In addition, it is the first in Lexus’ vehicle line-up to feature bamboo in its steering wheels, instrument panel and other fixtures. Its radiant, modern design, based on the L-finesse design philosophy, emanates the Lexus brand’s refined essence and powerful presence.
The Lexus GS 450h is a pioneer in the rear-wheel-drive hybrid field, offering three drive modes – Eco, Sport S, and Sport S+. It comes standard with numerous advanced features, including an advanced surround sound audio system, a radar cruise control system for pre-collision safety, and many others that combine luxury with safety.
The new GS 450h is both luxurious and fuel-efficient, powered by a 3.5-liter V6 2GR-FXE engine that produces a peak 290 horsepower at 6,000 rpm. Impressively, it is able to generate 345 Nm of torque at 4,600 rpm. The GS 450h engine signals the success of Lexus’ leading-edge hybrid technology, producing only a 145 g/km or less of CO2 emissions.
