LG Electronics appoints a new Gulf President

Mr. D. Y. Kim, President of LG Electronics Gulf

LG Electronics today announced that Mr. D. Y. Kim was appointed as the President of LG Electronics, Gulf FZE in January 2012. Mr Kim will succeed to Mr. Paik that was appointed President of the region in 2009.

Mr. Kim has been with LG Electronics since 1989 and his extensive experience into the electronics unit will be crucial to lead the company forward to embrace new challenges and opportunities.

He mentioned: “It is an honour to become President of the Gulf Region as it has been a region where LG has been achieving important milestones and where we anticipate an enormous potential of growth. Nowadays LG has the 2nd Market Position in the LED and Flat panel TV category within this market and it is very well perceived by our customers. Our focus will be to continue working as we have been doing so far in order to meet their expectations and keeping their trust.”   

Between 1999 and 2003 Mr. Kim worked in the LGEUS and Zenith (America), where he provided his expertise to the USA market for 5 years. From 2003 and until 2007 he worked in the Audio/Video market and in 2008 he took the role of the Digital Media Company outsourcing team.

Between 2009 and 2011 in the CAR Marketing Team thus dealing with major global brands and driving strategies that would benefit LG. Additionally, Mr. Kim became well versed within this markets dealing with the infotainment and AV systems.

Mr. Kim holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Southern California (USC) and a B.A in Electronics from Pusan National University.
