Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development hosted His Excellency Dr George Ivanov, President of the Republic of Macedonia, earlier today. A welcoming committee led by Haya Al Nassr, Director of Qatar Foundation’s Communication Directorate, received the president at the Qatar Foundation Visitor Center.
President Ivanov and his delegation listened to a presentation outlining the vision and mission of Qatar Foundation. He was also introduced to the many educational initiatives, community development plans and scientific research programmes undertaken by Qatar Foundation.
“Qatar Foundation, as a whole, is a very impressive project and model for the young generation because it is helping them acquire an education that gives them a bright future. This is ultimately what is contributing to Qatar’s overall development,” explained the president. “And under Qatar Foundation’s many new projects and initiatives, the nation’s future success will be ensured by the younger generation’s transformation into tomorrow’s leaders.”
After the presentation, the president and his delegation were shown an impressive 3D scale model of the current buildings and future construction projects at Qatar Foundation. As the visit came to a close, the president signed the Qatar Foundation visitor’s book and was presented with a manuscript copy of the Holy Quran.
President Ivanov, who assumed his position in May 2009, is in Doha on a state visit that aims at enhancing bilateral relations and provides both nations with the opportunity to discuss regional and international issues of mutual concern.
