UAE’s leading bank Mashreq has championed a social media campaign linked to Expo 2020 that expresses a vision of what Dubai will be like in the future. The ‘Nothing is Impossible’ campaign on social networks was launched a month ago and has generated participation from almost 40,000 Facebook users in UAE.
The campaign asked social media users to share their visions of what Dubai will be like in 2020 and beyond. Mashreq selected three of the most inspiring visions and created animated videos that were open to public voting. The vision of having a Solar City in Dubai took away the prize.
Mashreq enjoys a huge fan base on its Facebook page with over 120,000 fans and its Twitter page continuous to attract more followers.
The Bank’s branch network strategically located across the UAE also played a role in encouraging participation through the placement of tent cards to draw attention and increase engagement.
“We are at the convergence of two revolutions; a technology revolution and a social revolution. People are revisiting how they consume information and connect with banks. With over 3.4 million Facebook users in UAE, we believe Social Media is an important medium to engage with people. Mashreq’s venture into social media is in-line with its overall strategy to reach out to consumers that are active online. To ensure vibrant relationship with our consumers, we definitely endeavor to sustain the momentum on social networks.” said Ambar Brahmachary, Head of Marketing & Customer Experience, Mashreq.
He further added, "Dubai' is a very visionary, technologically driven cosmopolitan city. Our Nothing is Impossible campaign combines the three ingredients in order to inspire a vision of Dubai in the future,"
