For the ninth consecutive year, the Nawras Goodwill Journey will start travelling thousands of kilometres today, across the Sultanate of Oman to spread smiles and contribute to community initiatives. This year’s caring 10-day voyage has adopted the slogan of ‘Multaqeen’, meaning ‘we will see you again’, to ensure that projects supported by Nawras are developed into long term programmes that benefit local communities for many years.
Khalid Al Zadjali, Nawras Goodwill Journey Leader and Manager – Protocol, said, “We are investing our efforts in supporting the educational and skills development and training programmes run by the Omani Women’s Association in each Governorate we visit. Multaqeen embodies the vision with which the Nawras Goodwill Journey was conceived and our mission to enrich the daily lives of people in Oman. Multaqeen is our promise that the Nawras Goodwill Journey is committed to the long term prosperity of the community projects.”
Since it began in 2005, the annual Journey has helped more than 7,000 families in need, travelled over 48,000 kilometres and visited over 150 non-Government Organisations and associations across Oman to bring joy to local communities. Nawras Goodwill Journey 9 begins today as the convoy of Nawras Goodwill messengers embarks on a 5400 kilometres journey to provide donations and gifts to over 4000 Omanis during the holy month of Ramadan.
