Ross Cormack, Chief Executive Officer Nawras
Oman’s customer friendly telecommunications service provider, Nawras, marked its seventh anniversary by offering every customer 700 Elite points as well as sharing an enormous celebratory cake with surprised visitors to the Muscat Grand Mall. Led by Nawras Chief Executive Officer, Ross Cormack, Nawras family members joined media representatives, invited guests and passersby to celebrate the happy occasion.
Addressing the assembled crowd, Chief Executive Officer, Ross Cormack said: “The last seven years have been a remarkable journey and our fantastic achievements have largely been possible thanks to the great people that Nawras attracts. We would like to say a big thank you to our valued customers and to our partners, dealers, media friends and shareholders. I would also like to thank the more than 1000 members of the Nawras family who care for our customers all over this beautiful country.
“We aim to continue to set new benchmarks in excellence within the telecommunications industry as we delight our customers with award winning services. Our values of being caring, excellent and pleasingly different are as important to us all today as when we first launched our services in 2005.”
As a token of thanks, Nawras Mousbak prepaid Elite customers can receive 700 anniversary Elite points when recharging with a minimum of one Omani Rial at any time from 18 to 21 March. New Nawras Mousbak customers can opt into the program to benefit from the 700 points on their first recharge.
Nawras Ajel postpaid Elite customers are being automatically rewarded with 700 points and non-Elite customers simply need to join the program in order to receive and enjoy the free points.
Nawras Elite points can be accumulated and after 90 days in the programme, customers are able to redeem their points for free SMS and national calls. Nawras was first and is still the only telecommunications company in the Sultanate to offer customers a rewarding loyalty programme.
Nawras has been at the forefront of many other innovations such as the recently launched International Credit Transfer service which makes it possible for Nawras Mousbak customers to send credit directly to almost any prepaid mobile phone account in India, Bangladesh, Egypt, Pakistan and the Philippines.
The Company is currently demonstrating the latest wireless 4G LTE technology at the Muscat Grand Mall. Visitors can test the online gaming to experience this superfast broadband experience. Nawras was first to provide 3G services back in 2007 and first again with WiMAX in 2010.
Cormack added: “Customers will continue to drive the evolution of telecommunications which is just one of the reasons why we highly value all the feedback we receive and we listen carefully to what our customers are saying. With our recent entry into social media we are looking forward to being able to get even closer to many more customers in the months and years ahead.”
Continuing to play an active role in the community, Nawras leads by example through many social investment initiatives, with the most well-known activity being the annual Nawras Goodwill Journey in Ramadan. Nawras also supports numerous fundraising occasions as well as major national events and various non-profit organisations.
Since its inception in 2005, Nawras has won more than 40 prestigious awards and accolades, most recently ‘Oman Customer Service Excellence Award – Telecom Sector 2012’ at the first Oman Customer Care Conference held in the Sultanate. In the last year alone, the company was honoured to receive ‘Organizational Expansion of the Year’, ‘Corporate Finance Award’, ‘Strategic Leadership Award’ and ‘Best Innovation in HR Strategy’. Ross Cormack was named ‘Outstanding Leader of the Year 2011’ by TMT Finance Middle East.
