Nuqul Group Robotics Lab Center
Nuqul Group partnered with the Jubilee Center for Excellence in Education to launch its Robotics Lab in Al Koura District, which is an integral component of its corporate social responsibility program that involves a comprehensive adoption approach focusing on long term community empowerment and sustainability along with the activation of the developmental role of Municipalities. The program is a pioneering public-private partnership with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and the Municipality of Dair Abi Saeed.
This agreement will engage with the schools in Al Koura District and involves the active participation of the Jubilee Center for Excellence in Education and the Directorate of Education in Al Koura District. Nuqul Group’s Robotics Lab Center has been fully equipped with the most advanced educational robotics kits and supplementary learning tools to host 25 students at one time. Thirty three teachers from the Ministry of Education and from nine schools in the District were trained on the latest skills guided by professionals from the Jubilee Center for Excellence in Education. The project in the coming period will target students who will be taught Robotics sciences and who in return will apply it to come up with practical projects that will be able to participate and compete during the annual national “First Lego League” competition organized by JCEE and gathering hundreds of robotics teams from Jordan and the Arab region.
Nuqul Group’s CEO, Salim Karadsheh commented: “Working with our youth who represent our future leaders reflects our sustainable approach that focuses on empowerment and supports the educational career path of young individuals. Through partnerships such as The Jubilee Center for Excellence in Education and the Ministry of Education along with all educational entities and schools in the District we will reinforce our expansion approach leading to new beneficiaries and areas of intervention; our partners played an instrumental role in organizing this initiative and we look forward to materializing actual projects that will be able to compete on a regional level”.
From his end, Ismail Yasin, the Director of The Jubilee Center for Excellence in Education stated: “Educational Robotics is a highly dynamic applied science approach that enables students to develop their practical comprehension of scientific and mathematical concepts.
From our experience over the past years, we have seen a direct correlation between participating in the robotics program and improvement in educational performance in math, science, physics, chemistry and biology. Students in public schools, especially in areas outside city center particularly benefit from this lab as they generally lack well-equipped science laboratories and often go through their whole scholastic education without engaging in laboratory-based learning”.
Mr. Rakez Al Khalayleh who is currently heading the research and studies department at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs, and is the coordinator of this project, talked about the importance of activating the developmental role of municipalities within all Districts in Jordan which will lead to better living conditions and is considered to be a pillar in community development.
Spearheading a number of ambitious socio-economic, cultural, educational, and food security projects and activities in the district, Nuqul Group’s Robotics Lab Center is located in the urban area in Deir Abi Saeed, a multi – purpose facility owned by the municipality. Nuqul Group will be implementing a series of other activities in the coming months targeting the youth through education, culture and sports while implementing the sustainable approach and long term partnerships methodology.
