Orange Jordan and the Jordanian Armed Forces during the event
Orange Jordan and the Jordanian Armed Forces announced the activation of Orange’s discounted service program for members of the Jordanian Armed Forces, the Security Forces, and their family members. This is a continuation of a relationship between Orange Jordan and the Kingdom's Armed forces that dates back to 2001.
The announcement was made during a press conference led by Orange Jordan CEO, Nayla Khawam, and the Chief of Strategic Planning in the Armed Forces, Major General Omar al-Khaledi. Also in attendance was the Director of Command, Control and Telecommunication, Major General Zahi To’meh, Vice President of Orange Jordan-Chief Officer of Enterprise Unit, Sami Smeirat, various senior executives and staff of Orange Jordan, and members of the press.
The discount program provides eligible recipients with a range of telecom services; included are 5,000 mobile phone minutes and 1,000 landline minutes on the Orange network, with 100 minutes on other networks. The plan also includes 500 local text messages and 20 MB of data content, all for 6 JD after taxes. For smartphone users, the program will provide a data plan for social media use, email, web surfing, and (for Blackberry users) BBM services, all for 18 JD.
"The relationship that bonds Orange Jordan and our country's Armed Forces has been long and very positive," commented Orange Jordan CEO, Nayla Khawam. "Orange has been proud to provide the Armed Forces a range of telecom services, from mobile phone plans to landline and premium broadband internet capabilities. We feel a strong need to recognize their contributions. We are delighted to initiate this program on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty King Abdullah II's 50th birthday, and we look forward to more opportunities for partnership and collaboration in the future."
“This partnership adds to the long and fruitful history of cooperation that goes back to 2001, when we first began offering special telecom services to the Armed Forces in recognition of their active role in maintaining security and peace in our country,” added Khawam.
"We are delighted to sign this strategic partnership on a special day for all Jordanians, the 50th birthday of His Majesty King Abdullah II,” commented Major General Omar al-Khaledi. General al-Khaledi added that the partnership with Orange Jordan followed a thorough tendering process in which Orange was willing to offer the most significant and comprehensive range of discounts. The General continued, "We are pleased to partner with Orange Jordan at this important stage in the history of the Jordanian Armed Forces. Jordan Telecom Group has played a pioneering role in developing Jordan's telecom sector and serving the defense forces telecommunications needs, and for that we must give it the recognition it deserves."
"Orange Jordan's long expertise, outstanding infrastructure, and its prominent role in building the Kingdom's telecom sector made Orange an excellent choice for this program," added Major General Zahi To’meh. "Orange is one of the largest and most distinguished companies in the Kingdom – with telecommunications so important to our security forces in this era, I have no doubt that selecting a proven telecom provider like Orange was the right decision."
Sami Smeirat, speaking in his capacity as the head of Orange Jordan’s business-oriented Enterprise Unit, emphasized that the special program designed for the military was only one example of the personalized services offered to its clients. According to Smeirat, Orange “spares no effort creating services tailor-made for its clients.” He added, “At the Business Unit we have formed a highly-trained and professional team to serve the unique needs of our clients.
