Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, today announced its partnership expansion with OSN, to offer Samsung SMART TV customers in the Gulf a host of unrivalled on-demand entertainment options.
The agreement is set to maximize the TV viewing experience for Samsung’s SMART TV consumers in the region through an OSN Play application that can be downloaded from the Samsung apps store. OSN Play provides access to the latest TV shows and movies for up to fourteen days after they have aired.

OSN Play provides subscribers the opportunity to enjoy watching programs anytime, anywhere. Users can stream, and playback TV content whenever they like. Samsung identified a recent increase in popularity for on-demand applications on their SMART TVs, recent research from Samsung indicated that 88 percent of consumers’ time is being dedicated to video streaming on Samsung’s Smart TVs. Content accessibility and the continuous development of the region’s internet band-width offering have helped to create a rise in demand for VoD. As a result, Samsung has been committed to extending its video content and developing VoD applications for its SMART TV consumers.
Samsung’s 2013 SMART TV range offers a host of new innovative features, such as its advanced Smart Interaction that allows consumers to use everyday language and casual gestures to control the TV. The motion recognition has been enhanced significantly, allowing users to zoom in and out using two hands, flip through Smart Hub using a wave gesture and add content to favorites with a simple thumbs-up gesture. The new range includes a redesigned Smart Hub that offers five dynamic menu panels to help consumers manage and navigate different types of content. Using the Smart Hub interface users can easily search for movies, shows and videos via online services and across connected devices.
