Just a week before the official opening of the Heritage Village of ADNOC and it Group of Companies, many visitors gathered yesterday evening to witness the soft opening of the village which is located on the Corniche in front of the Sheikh Khalifa Energy Complex.
The opening ceremony was attended by a number of senior executives, dignitaries and media personnel. H.E. Abdulla Nasser Al Suwaidi, ADNOC Director General will officially open village on November 30th. It will remain open to the public until December 4th, from 9am to 1pm and from 5pm to 9pm.
The village, organised as part of the UAE’s 40th National Day celebrations under the theme “Union Fort”, offers an Arabian
hospitality atmosphere showcasing traditional shops and handicraft products.
During the event, the Higher Organizing Committee of ADNOC Group’s 40 National Day celebration briefed members of the local media on the celebratory programme which features a host of activities including traditional folk songs and dance, poetry, quizzes, raffle draws etc... Local women dressed in the traditional costume will prepare authentic Saj bread, local food and delicious Arabic coffee, while other women and men will demonstrate traditional weaving techniques and other local handicrafts.
The visitors will also have the opportunity to sign the Allegiance Document, in a tribute to the country’s leadership, on November 29-30.
