Souq.com formally launched it’s new site, an overhaul that could refashion the way people shop on the region's largest online retailer. The new site has been designed for an enhanced user experience - improved search and better merchandising enables users to find the widest range of best deals easily. In addition, the company has made significant investments in logistics and payment systems to give an end to end experience to the consumer.
Ronaldo Mouchawar, CEO of Souq.com pointed out that the redesign is an acknowledgement of how fast users are changing their browsing and internet usage behavior. “We are the largest e-retailer in the region, hence we need to constantly adapt to today’s user needs and enhance their experience. We want to ensure a great experience to the buyer.” he added.
He also pointed out that as an online retailer; you have to be much more than just a website. “Your website is important, it is a store front but you cannot give the user a great experience if you don’t deliver and fulfill your promises. The last mile is critical; you need to ensure that you have fulfillment centers, trained delivery and warehousing systems and secure systems to protect your consumer data.”
