Tamkeen is represented by its Chairman and Acting Chief Executive H.E. Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al Khalifa, who took part in today's main plenary session under the topic "Enabling Job Creation: Whose Responsibility is it?". The panel included a select group of key figures from the private and public sector, as well as representatives of other sectors concerned with job creation.
The panelists discussed a wide range of subjects related to the topic, including the specific roles and responsibilities of the parties concerned, the role of the public sector as catalyst of the economy, and mechanisms that governments can adopt to spur development of job-generating sectors.
H. E. Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al Khalifa highlighted a number of relevant key issues such as ways to create jobs and review policies, the role of the public sector, support for the private sector, investments required for economic development and job creation, and the importance for balanced development. He also illustrated Bahrain's experience in this regard through the kingdom's national reform initiatives and economic vision.
Creating job opportunities, which is the main theme of the 12th edition of the Arab Thought Foundation Conference "Fikr 12", is one of the biggest current and future challenges globally. The conference hopes to formulate a new economic model to help address this challenge in light of the exponential growth of the youth segment, especially in the Arab world.
The conference will identify the future requirements of the labor market in the Arab world, set out a clear and accurate vision of the Arab economy, and draw up future plans capable of achieving viable comprehensive reforms on all levels. The participants will also discuss the obstacles to job creation and the required policies and solutions to create the appropriate environment to address this challenge.
The “Fikr 12” conference brings together a select group of government leaders, policymakers, businessmen, entrepreneurs, academicians, thinkers, and civil society representatives.
