Tamkeen announces that it is conducting a comprehensive review and re-evaluation of its “Conference Attendance Support” and “Tarweej” schemes as part of its ongoing efforts to enable the development of Bahrainis and businesses in Bahrain, activate the role of the private sector, and contribute to achieving Bahrain's Economic Vision.
The evaluation process will focus on the content and quality of the events and activities that Tamkeen supports under the two programmes to ensure they have a positive and direct impact on beneficiaries. More effective controls and standards will be set to guarantee maximum benefit and ensure that the two programmes achieve their set objectives.
Tamkeen will also take into consideration the feedback it received from the various sectors during the consultation sessions it held in October to further improve and develop the two programmes.
In addition, applications for the “Conference Attendance Support” scheme have been temporarily put on hold due to the exhaustion of the funds allocated to it for the current phase. An announcement will be made when the improved modified programme resumes, of which around 6,500 Bahrainis have benefited to date.
Applications for “Tarweej” however, will still be accepted during the review process.
Tamkeen's Chairman and Acting Chief Executive Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al Khalifa commented: "We are committed to respond market needs and adapt to its changes. We are fully focused on developing our operations with a view toward improving quality, focusing on clients, and achieving results."
The Conference Attendance Support Scheme develops Bahrainis’ skills and promotes the culture of continuous learning by enabling them to attend conferences, seminars, and workshops in Bahrain. Through these short-term events, the beneficiaries acquire new skills, gain expertise, and learn best international practices, with emphasis on personal skills like inter-personal communication, efficient leadership, positive attitudes and ethics, improved work environment, and women empowerment.
“Tarweej” enables businesses to participate in local and international trade fairs and exhibitions which boost their growth and development by expanding their customer base, learning the latest market developments, and building business relationships.
To date, Tamkeen programmes have served around 98,000 Bahrainis and businesses in Bahrain.
