Saudi Arabia: SNC-Lavalin awarded contract for Wasit gas program
SNC-Lavalin announced that it has been awarded a front-end engineering (FEED) and project management services contract by Saudi Aramco for the Wasit Gas Development Program.
The Wasit Gas Development Program will provide for the production and processing of up to 2.5 billion standard cubic feet per day (SCFD) of gas from the Aribiyah and Hasbah offshore non-associated sour gas fields to meet the future demands of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This is a 5-year contract expected to commence by October 1, 2009.
“SNC-Lavalin is very pleased with this contract award, which both reinforces our long-term relationship with Saudi Aramco carrying out oil and gas projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and also highlights SNC-Lavalin’s world class gas treatment plant engineering expertise, particularly following a similar contract awarded recently in North Africa” said Jean Beaudoin, Executive Vice-President, SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. “'Work will be carried out primarily in our Calgary office, as well as in our in-Kingdom offices through SNC-Lavalin Arabia.”
SNC-Lavalin is one of the leading engineering and construction groups in the world and a major player in the ownership of infrastructure, and in the provision of operations and maintenance services.
