Seven firms shorlisted for 'Golf Gardens' earthworks package
Seven companies have been short listed by Sorouh Real Estate to bid for the earthworks package of the Golf Gardens project in Abu Dhabi, which will be the emirate's first golf course residential development.
"The earthworks and excavation is the first major construction phase for the Golf Garden project which is considered one of the most important property developments in Abu Dhabi," said Mounir Haidar, CEO of Sorouh, according to Khaleej Times.
"We will recruit the best resources available in the market to move forward with the construction work on the project to ensure that the development will be delivered on time," Haidar added.
The seven contractors are the National Projects and Construction, Abu Dhabi Maintenance and Contracting, Al Husam, Hilal Bilbadi & Partners, COPRI Construction Enterprises Establishment, Al Muhairy and Saif Bin Darwish.
The tender for the package was issued in June for a construction period of four months.
Golf Gardens will consist of 389 residential town homes and villas on more than 347,000 square meters of land. The area will have a self-supporting infrastructure, including "the Golf Gardens Club" with convenience stores, restaurants, health and fitness centers, swimming pools, tennis and squash courts, parks and gardens.
Work on the project is expected to be completed by 2008.
Golf Gardens is being developed in close coordination with the Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC).
