Star Cement new brand for ETA Ascon cement manufacturing

Star Cement will be the new brand name for ETA Ascon Group's consolidated cement manufacturing capabilities, an official said. "Star Cement has two plants in the UAE in Abu Dhabi and Ajman and one each in Bahrain, Bangladesh and Sudan.

"This is our first move to consolidate our position in the subcontinent, Middle East and North Africa, where the cement market is rather fragmented," said Ahmad Salahuddin, business development manager of Star Cement.

The move unites Arabian Gulf Cement of Ajman and Hyundai Tiger Cement of Bahrain under the Star Cement umbrella brand. Star Cement has majority control of five cement plants.

Star Cement is part of the $1.8 billion (Dh6.48 billion) ETA Ascon Group, with offices around the world.
