Emirates’ total A380 order sits at 140 and since taking delivery of its first A380 in July and following a twin delivery this month Emirates’ superjumbo fleet has grown to the largest in the world with 44 A380s in operation. Meanwhile, Novus Aviation Capital said in a statement on Monday that it had closed a finance lease with Emirates for two A380-800s, which in list prices are in excess of $800.

Emirates did not respond to requests for comment on the Novus announcement. The deal comes from Tamweel Aviation Finance (TAF), a joint venture between Novus, Airbus and the Development Bank of Japan (DBJ) and managed by Novus.Financing was provided by a number of regional and international banks including National bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) and Union National Bank,
