Syria approves construction of Latakia hotel
The Syrian ministry of tourism has accepted an application by the Saudi Bin Laden Group to build the Avamya tourism resort in Latakia, reported Al-Hayat. The execution of the project will require investments of an estimated two billion Syrian pounds ($40.6 million).
Although the Arab Urban Development Company will finance the project, the Syrian ministry of transportation will in fact be listed as its owner.
The complex will consist of a hotel and a number of chalets covering an area of some 33,000 square meters. The resort will contain 289 rooms and 460 beds, as well as various leisure facilities. — (MENA Report)
