Syria, Greece sign transport agreement
An agreement on road transport and civil aviation was signed in Damascus on Saturday, March 24, between Syria and Greece, the official SANA agency reported.
The agreement, worked out during a visit to Syria of the Greek transport minister, Christos Verelis, includes conditions of international road transport of passengers and goods and free rehabilitation by Greece civil aviation.
Verelis noted the importance of implementation of Asian-European road across Greece and Syria, in order to advance economic and social cooperation.
The Greek minister also discussed “the regional situation” with Syrian Vice President Abdul-Halim Khaddam, and met with Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa for talks on developing bilateral cooperation on economy and transport issues.
Accompanying the Greek transport minister was an information delegation, received by the Syrian information minister, Adnan Omran. SANAalso reported that a Greek businessmen delegation met members of the Damascus Trade Chamber for talks on the standing trade relations, means of developing them and on possibilities of cooperation in field of joint investments of land and naval transport. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
