Syria to supply natural gas to Lebanon
Lebanese Minister of Energy and Water, Mohammed Baydhoun, and the Syrian Minister of Oil and Natural Resources, Mohammed Jamal, signed an initial agreement in which Syria will supply gas to Lebanon in the future, reported the Al-Hayat newspaper.
Lebanon will use the natural gas to generate electrical power rather than its present and past method of using fuel oil. Within a few weeks, both states will build a 45-kilometer long pipeline costing $15 million, for the transport of Syrian gas to its destination. —(MENA Report)
