Taiwanese companies use GITEX to explore new markets
More than sixty companies from Taiwan will have a presence at GITEX Dubai to be held October 13-17, 2002 at the Dubai International Exhibition Center, showcasing a broad range of information technology (IT) products and services.
Some newcomers say they believe the exhibition well help them develop new markets in the Middle East region. Omega Technology of Taiwan, which specializes in coolers, switches, cables and USB products, recently opened a Middle East office in the Jebel Ali Free Zone. One if its representatives said it hopes to boost regional awareness of its products through its participation at Gitex.
Organized by the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), Gitex Dubai, held annually at the Dubai International Exhibition Center, is the Middle East's largest and most important IT event. The exhibition targets trade professionals and is complemented by Gitex Computer Shopper, a consumer-oriented event that will be held at Airport Expo Dubai, October 12-18, 2002.
There are several Gitex events now being held throughout the region, including Termium-Gitex Beirut held in Lebanon and Gitex Saudi Arabia held in Riyadh. — (menareport.com)
