Turkey’s exports increased by six percent in the first four months of 2002

Turkey’s revenues generated from exports increased by 5.8 percent in the first four months of 2002 compared with the same period last year, reaching $10.3 billion, reported Turkiye. 

The country’s industrial exports increased by 11 percent from January to April, mining exports by 34 percent and agricultural exports by 13 percent during the same period. Ready-to-wear clothing exports increased by 24 percent, vehicle exports increased by 3.7 percent and electronic exports by 29 percent. 

Turkey’s foreign trade deficit dropped 62.3 percent, from $1.8 billion to $691 million as of January 2002, reported the State Institute for Statistics (DIE). Turkey exported $2.4 billion worth of goods in January 2002 and imported $3.1 billion worth of merchandise during the same period. — (menareport.com)
