UAE seeks to increase local youth employment in hospitality industry
More than a 100 United Arab Emirates (UAE) national youths received certificates of appreciation on the completion of the Career Development Summer Program (CDSP) at the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) at a Graduation Ceremony conducted at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry auditorium yesterday.
The CDSP was organized by the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) in conjunction with the Ministry of Education and Youth, TANMIA - The National Human Resources Development and Employment Authority and The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management and received support from the private sector including Jumeirah International, DUTCO Hotels, ACCOR Hotels, Sofitel City Centre Hotel, Al-Bustan Rotana Hotel, Le Meridien Hotel, The Fairmont Dubai, Desert Adventures Tourism, Alpha Tours, Planet Travel & Tours and the UAE Volleyball Association among others.
“The CDSP is a unique example of the constant endeavors to increase interaction between the public and private sector and it is this unique teamwork that benefits the tourism industry as a whole,” stated a press release.
The objectives of the CDSP were to increase awareness among participants about the career development and employment opportunities available within the tourism sector available for UAE nationals and to enhance their skills to prepare them for jobs in this sector. The CDSP course included on-line learning, English, IT and many site visits. — (menareport.com)
