UAE's Etisalat upgrades toll-free ‘Service800’
Emirates Telecommunications Company (Etisalat) on Saturday announced the upgrade to its toll-free ‘Service800’ for businesses, governmental authorities and corporations. Etisalat offers companies to use a name as part of the 800 toll-free number, and the option to personally specify the routing for their calls with the web-based Intelligent Network.
The new 800-MY NAME number offers a new marketing tool for companies, as their customers only have to remember the name. The letters of the 800-MY NAME are based on combinations of numbers. Companies should register their chosen name with Etisalat that assigns the numbers purely on a first-come-first-served basis.
For clients who wish to receive only calls within UAE, they can choose a string of 5 to 12 characters (numbers / letters), including 800, while customers who wish to also receive international calls, can choose any combination of 7 to 11 characters (numbers / letters), including 800. Existing clients can choose a name at no cost and they will also get a free voicemail announcement of the changed number for three months.
Customers of the toll-free ‘Service800’ can modify their routing requirements online with the revolutionary Intelligent Network. The service allows clients to decide which calls they want to receive and pay for according to a variety of call routing options that include sorting by origin, time and day dependence or call centre busy. Calls to the 800 number can also be routed to another landline, mobile number or even an international number.
Speaking at the launch of the service, Mr. Mohammed Al Fahim, Executive Vice President Marketing, Etisalat, said: “The upgraded toll-free ‘Service800’ provides businesses, governmental authorities and corporations with a convenient and inexpensive tool for effective communication with their customers and other audiences. The benefits to any business to have a toll-free number that spells their name is sure to be absolutely unmatched, and Etisalat is proud to be the first service provider in the region to offer their clients such a marketing tool.” (menareport.com)
