The Community Development Authority (CDA) recently organized a seminar on integrity and human rights to strengthen awareness on best practices in human rights for the judicial, courts and police staff. The seminar focused on the importance of ensuring justice and equality for all to achieve the larger goals of all-round social development.
The seminar is in line with CDA's commitment to promote awareness on the basic rules for the protection of human rights and its positive impact on individuals, family and society. It also complements the aspirations and visions of the nation's leadership in investing and promoting human resources as the first pillar in nation-building.
Dr Ghaith Ghanem Al Suwaidi, CEO – Human Rights Sector in CDA, CEOs from different sectors, and representatives from government institutions attended the seminar, which was organized by the Human Rights Sector of CDA.

"Our duty in CDA is to cooperate with all UAE judicial and legislative institutions to promote community awareness about human rights practices, the reduction of individual abuses, and combat the phenomenon of human trafficking. The United Arab Emirates has joined the countries that have enacted laws and legislation to curb these crimes which undermines communities, and actively seeking to keep pace with international efforts to eradicate this," added Dr Al Suwaidi.
The seminar led by experts included the topics; Justice in Islam (the principle and application), Protecting the dignity of victims of human trafficking in accordance with the Palermo Protocol, Right of the accused to a fair trial, and Future vision of human rights under the UAE Judiciary.
