Egypt's historic presidential elections got off to a sound start. But the pioneering democratic elections of such a populous nation were bound to include a few sparks and incidents. Intimidation, dodgy posters and rule-bending were around every corner if you looked.
The polls opened Wednesday at 8:00 am (0600 GMT) in Egypt for the first presidential election since the fall of Hosni Mubarak some 15 months ago.
