Central Trade and Auto Company (CTA), the exclusive dealers for Toyota, Lexus and Hino vehicles in the Kingdom, recently launched its fan page on Facebook, the internet’s most popular social networking site, thereby allowing their customers to connect and correspond with them by joining the largest online social community.
In light of Facebook’s increasing popularity in the social networking scene, countless Facebook users expect to have all their interactions present online, including their favorite brands and companies. With the launch of their fan page, CTA offers the whole of the Jordanian online community the opportunity to learn more about the company on Facebook.
In the launch of their Facebook Fan Page, CTA introduced a highly innovative Facebook campaign, under the heading of Toyota’s Green Idea. Driven by what CTA perceives as an urgent need of a sustainable ‘green culture’ in the Kingdom, the campaign effectively harnesses the full power of social networking to create genuine hype in the community through creative thinking and social interaction.
The competition offers participants the opportunity to win the grand prize of an Apple iPad by proposing an idea for an environmental awareness initiative, submitted directly through the campaign’s Facebook page. The top 10 ideas that garner the most ‘likes’ on the page make it to the final round of the competition, at which point a panel of judges will choose the single best idea whose author will receive the grand prize. The second runner up will receive an iPod Touch. If the idea is practical, feasible and sustainable, and should it fall inline with CTA’s environmental preservation strategy, the company may very well see it all the way to implementation.
