Al Hamad Contracting Company" beat "Standard Chartered Bank" by (18 runs) to emerge as the champion team in this year’s edition of the annual cricket league sponsored and organized by Danube, the leader in construction, building materials and shop fitting industries. The Inclusion of female players added excitement to this wear’s games. A total of 33 teams composed of media partners, suppliers, bankers and other business associates competed in the annual cricket tournament held yesterday (June 3, 2011), at Insportz in Al Quoz, Dubai. The winning team was awarded a grand trophy, medals for the team members and surprise prizes from Rizwan Sajan, Chairman and Anis Sajan, Managing Director, Danube.
Also, the "Emirates NBD" beat out "Adel team" by (38 runs) to grab the win in the cricket league’s plate event. Winners for the Plate event were also awarded a trophy, medals and incentive prizes. The Danube Cricket League is part of the company’s strategic initiative to strengthen its relations with its affiliated corporate partners. Aside from the cricket games, the event featured a full day of fun and entertainment with activities like face painting sessions, clowns and cartoon character shows, cheer leaders, quizzes, games, DJs and music and a mini-concert.
