Death by Hookah: Suffocated by Sheesha Smoke

A man found 'smoked' to death in a locked air-tight room in his home in Dora, Beirut, with his Arguileh pipe.
Man suffocated to death on his arguileh
God bless his soul, but wish he'd ventilated his room or just come up for air. Found in Beirut's Dora district, choked from smoke in air-tight room, this Lebanese seems to have had a marathon session with his Arguileh.
"Ok we all know Arguileh is bad for health, and it can get really annoying to have clouds of smoke in closed restaurants. But can you really suffocate on the smoke of an Arguileh and die? That’s what happened to a Lebanese guy who was having an Arguileh in his locked room!"

If a Muslim cleric said that, he would be lampooned and vilified on every front page in US newspapers
The implication made by our seething friend is that the Jewish faith can get away with a lot more by hiding behind it's safety net of the Anti-Semeticism-Watch- Brigade:
"While searching for eight-year-old Leiby Kletzky on July 12 in Brooklyn, an Orthodox rabbi, Shmuel Kamenetsky made the claim that sexual abuse of a child should be reported to a rabbi, who would then be in charge of deciding if the police should be notified."

Books of Note: With Somalia in mind
Imagine all the left-overs from huge Iftar feasts that could go toward this cause- ideally and probably not logistically. Instead, the NGO do-gooder 'organized' armies are moving in, and exploiting the situation to pay salaries and running costs, rather than directly feed mouths. This should be a voluntary mission from humanity, says blog, agrees Ed.
"On TVs, on the Net and on newspapers, the disaster unfolding in the Horn of Africa right now, is the most painful thing to watch or read. Millions of people are starving and they should be helped. But it is truly shocking and dismaying to have people, even those with noble intentions or claiming to have such intentions, use or turn such disasters or calamities into business opportunities or profit."

Letter to President Obama
Touche Mr President, says one Fast-talker!
"I just sent President Obama a signed copy of my book, Fast Times in Palestine. Accompanying it to the White House is this letter:
Dear President Obama:
I’m writing to thank you for your haunting memoir, Dreams from My Father, which I enjoyed immensely. Please find enclosed a small thank-you gift: A signed copy of my recently published memoir, Fast Times in Palestine."

Robert Fisk: Egypt awaits first trial of an Arab Spring dictator
Mubarak, Egypt's Pharaoh, in his 'golden cage':
"We shall not speak his name. Along the road to his trial – if it actually takes place – are rows of watermelon stands, vast green hard-skinned “batiqs” piled on top of each other on broken wooden carts, the favourite ice-cold fruit for the “iftar” meal that closes every day of fasting this Ramadan. At the end of each cart, a single “batiq” has been sliced open by its sweating vendor to show its rich, red, juicy interior. But of course, what every Egyptian wants to know is whether the “Malek al-Batiq” – the King of Watermelons – will actually appear in his golden cage at the end of the road today."
